CASCADES TISSUE GROUP

The Tissue Group, a division of Cascades, is the second-largest tissue producer in Canada and the fifth-largest in North America. The Division manufactures, converts and markets a huge selection of paper products, such as hand towels, bathroom tissue, facial tissue, napkins, paper towels, wipers and dispensers for the North American away-from-home and consumer products markets. The Group has more than 2,200 employees and operates seven manufacturing plants, nine conversion plants and four plants with both manufacturing and conversion facilities.

Your challenge!

Reporting to the Vice-President Operations, the General Manager is tasked with contributing to the development of the production strategy and ensuring its implementation. In collaboration with departments and centres of expertise, you will ensure that a culture of continuous improvement in health and safety practices, quality management and customer focus is established and maintained. You will provide operational leadership in all your unit s activities to engage your team members and support them in achieving objectives while ensuring that you exert a positive influence on costs, quality and delivery times.

Job Responsibilities

Accountable

  • Ensure optimal execution of operations by achieving targets in terms of occupational health and safety, production capacity, standardization of operating costs and quality
  • Engage and develop all your employees

Responsible

  • Collaborate in the development of a production strategy with the Vice-President Operations
  • Support plant management in applying the production strategy to operations, in collaboration with the General Sales Manager and the Planning and Distribution Manager
  • Act as resource person in the application of Cascades processes in accordance with established business rules and good practices
  • Act as resource person for the application of production execution processes
  • Support plant managers in setting performance standards (availability, efficiency, OEE)
  • Serve as a strategic adviser to build, lead and supervise an operational team
  • Help your team members develop their potential
  • Actively participate in the creation and implementation of optimization and investment projects
  • Contribute to the implementation of your business unit s strategic plan in collaboration with the Regional Administrative Director and the Human Resources Manager

Your Background and Strength

  • Strong business management experience with a turnover of at least $100 million
  • Proven financial management skills and a strong ability to analyze financial performance, budgets and economic indicators
  • Leadership and a collaborative spirit that inspire and engage teams to achieve excellence

Education

Bachelor's degree in Operations Management or Pulp and paper
